Flawed Perfection by Cassandra Giovanni Release Blitz

Flawed Perfection Cover

Bobby Beckerson was the American All-Star hockey player--he was the spitting image of perfection to his family. Goofy, sweet and undeniably gorgeous, he had everything but the one girl he wanted: River Ahlers.
River Ahlers is successful in everything but love. She's been in love with Adam Beckerson since they were kids. Worst of all she's stuck right in the middle of the brother's dueling over everything and anything, and she doesn't even know she's the ultimate prize.
Adam Beckerson was a boy with a guitar, a smile that sunk girl's hearts and a stone wall around his own. He was anything but perfect, and no matter how hard he tried he was nothing compared to Bobby. Sweet, damaged, with boyish good-looks, nobody thought Adam loved anyone but himself.
Bobby loved River, River loved Adam and Adam only loved himself--or so everyone thought. Then one night everything changes, and as it threatens to destroy everyone involved a tragedy strikes that will break them all...

Excerpt
I nodded my head and watched as Adam’s hand lingered on the neck of the Ibanez™ before he picked it back up and slipped the strap over his shoulder.
I sat on the edge of the bed as he began to play without an amplifier.
The noise was tinny without the electric part hooked up but that didn’t matter. Adam’s fingers moved effortlessly from fret to fret as he strummed the guitar. His head nodded ever so slightly to the beat and his bare foot tapped the floor as he closed his eyes and a smile formed on his lips.
I stood and placed my hands around his neck, yet he continued to play, nod his head and tap his foot with eyes closed. The only change was on his lips as they crept into the seductive grin.
I leaned into him, letting my hands comb through the hair on the back of his head as my breath washed over his lips.
Still nothing. The guitar continued to hum with his talent.
I let my lips hover over his, then let them wander over the soft skin of his neck and up the stubble of his chin. The beat remained smooth, undisturbed as the strings squealed and he deepened the riff.
I paused as my lips reached his again, lingering at the corner of his mouth where the cold metal of his lip ring teased me just as much as his fingers on the guitar.
I let my mouth run over the metal until it caught in my teeth and I sucked it in.
Finally, his body reacted tensing as he groaned—but his playing didn’t cease, didn’t change. He still resisted, hand strumming a tease over the strings next to the skin of my belly.
His mouth responded to mine as I let the ring and his lip slowly slip away from me. That was it— the guitar spun to his back and he yanked my hips to his own.
“I need you to play me like that guitar,” I gasped as his hand tilted my head and his tongue ran over my trembling neck.
His other hand drifted down my torso.
“Good, because I wasn’t done with my song,” he growled into my ear.

♥My Review♥

I was sent this eBook by the Author through Booksniffers Review and Au Tour in exchange for an honest review.

I had the most difficult time reading this! I was confused more often than not with all the different POV's going on in this book, which is why it took me as long as it did to read. I just don't think this book was for me.

I think the concept is amazing and I did enjoy that aspect of it. There were times when I had to put it down because I was getting nervous for the character, especially Beth. I couldn't connect with any of the characters though, which disappointed me.

I think I would have enjoyed this more if there were fewer POV's, with the same story line downsized into just two to three POV's at most.

Top 5 Wednesday│Friendships

Friendships

This week's Top 5 is Friendships. This seems like an easy feat, but when I went to narrow down the choices, I found it to be somewhat difficult! After spending all day, I have narrowed my top 5 choices.

#5
♥Brooke and Melanie♥
Even though Brooke is off with Remy and working for him while he is on the road, she keeps in touch with Melanie. They have this bond that is rare and they truly do love each other, even if they don't act like it at times.

#4
♥Abby and America♥
These two girls are truly "Pea's in a Pod"! They are as much family as they are friends. Both Abby and America protect each other no matter what. If they are in the wrong, they still have each other's backs.

#3
♥Sky and Six♥
Even though Six leaves in the first few chapters of this book, she still has a strong influence with Sky. Six takes the time to keep up with what's going on and she isn't afraid to put Holder in his place when he messes up, even if its through texts. I absolutely love these girls and the friendship that they have built.

#2
♥Holder and Daniel♥
Okay, this one was close to being my number 1 pick. Holder and Daniel have this banter with each other that cracks me up. This is very rare to see with friends, which makes you see that the truly are best friends.

#1
♥Rose and Lissa♥
These girls are best friends in the truest form! They literally put their lives on the line for the other. They fight on occasion, but when it comes down to it, both would do anything for the other, even sacrifice them selves or their sanity! They are bonded and I believe they were before they were Shadow Kissed!

There we have it, my Top 5 Friendships! Please let me know your thoughts and if you would like to see the Top 5 Wednesday in video VS blog form!

Divergent (Divergent #1) by Veronica Roth│Book Review

♥♥♥♥♥

♥Synopsis♥

In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago world, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue-- Candor (the hones), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful) and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is--she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprised everyone, including herself.

During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles alongside her fellow initiates to live out the choice they have made. Together they must undergo extreme physical tests of endurance and intense psychological simulations, some with devastating consequences. As initiation transforms them all, Tris must determine who her friends really are--and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes exasperating boy fits into the life she has chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she's kept hidden from everyone because she's been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers unrest and growing conflict that threaten to unravel her seemingly perfect society, Tris also learns that her secret might help her save the ones she loves...or it might destroy her.

♥My Review♥

What can I say about Divergent or Veronica Roth that hasn't been said. This book was amazing and the journey that you take with Tris in her new faction, was anything but boring.

There were so many elements in this book that I didn't expect to find. It was action packed and kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire book. It kept me guessing and captivated my heart. I felt connected to the protagonist, Tris and all the obstacles she faced and need I say, it was almost more than I could bare.

There were moments that I was shocked, scared, hopeful and inspired. This is one of those books that is so rare, because the world that was created was so real and believable. I believe that is hard to find, especially with the dystopian worlds that are being written.

The world building was nothing but phenomenal. Veronica Roth took the time to describe each and every detail through Tris' eyes without slowing down the pace of the book.

There was so much character growth with Tris. With a 16 yr old girl, leaving everything she has ever known, family and friends with a secret that could cost her her life. As she figured out what was happening with the bigger picture with the factions, she was brave and loyal to those that mattered and deserved it.

I highly recommend this book and I am excited to continue with the series.

I gave this ♥♥♥♥♥ out of ♥♥♥♥♥ on Goodreads.

Take a Chance (Chance #1, Rosemary Beach #6) by Abbi Glines│Book Review

♥♥♥♥♥

♥Synopsis♥

When Harlow Manning's rocker father goes on tour, he sends her to Rosemary Beach, Florida, to live with her half-sister, Nan. The problem: Nan despises her. Harlow has to keep her head down if she wants to get through the next nine months, which seems easy enough. Until gorgeous Grant Carter walks out of Nan's room in nothing but his boxer briefs.

Grant made a huge mistake getting involved with a girl with venom in her veins. He'd known about Nan's reputation, but still he couldn't resist her. Nothing makes him regret the fling more than meeting Harlow, who sends his pulse racing. Yet Harlow want's nothing to do with a guy who could fall for her wicked half-sister; even if there are no strings between Grant nd Nan. Grant is desperate to redeem himself in Harlow's eyes, but did he ruin his chances before he even met her?

♥My Review♥

If you haven't read Fallen Too Far, Never Too Far, Fallen Too Far, there may be some spoilers in this review. You have been WARNED!!!

Take a Chance was a great addition to the Rosemary Beach series. It wasn't my favorite book in the series, but it was still a great read.

At first I wasn't sure if I was going to like Take a Chance due to the beginning and the flash backs to when Grant and Harlow had their first encounter. I was afraid that it was going to be through the whole book and I wasn't liking it at all.

After getting through the flashbacks, I understood why they were there. They enhanced the back story between Grant and Harlow that we hadn't seen in Forever Too Far. It was there for a reason and I should never have doubted Abbi for it.

Grant grows a lot in this book. He realizes that he is done messing around and sticks up to Nan when he makes the decision to pursue Harlow, even if Harlow wants nothing to do with him.

As always, it was great seeing Rush, Blaire, Nate, Woods and Della in this book. However, (SPOILER SECTION) my favorite parts were Rush and Blaire with Nate. I loved seeing them grow as a family. I love seeing Rush as a daddy even more and his interactions with his son! You already know how much Blaire had changed him, but Nate has changed him even more.

I gave this ♥♥♥♥♥ out of ♥♥♥♥♥ on Goodreads. If you haven't read this series, then I suggest you get on it!

While it Lasts (Sea Breeze #3) by Abbi Glines│Review

♥♥♥♥

♥Synopsis♥

Maybe driving home after a few (or more) shots of tequila had been a bad idea, but hell, he did it all the time. The cops had to have been freaking bored to have pulled him over. He wasn't even swerving! That's Cage York's story and he's sticking to it.

Unfortunately, his baseball coach isn't buying it. Cage has a free ride to the local junior college for baseball -- or he did, until he'd gotten a DUI. Now, Cage has to decide: does he drop out and give up on his dream of getting noticed by a college in the SEC, and possibly making it into the Major Leagues -- or does he give in to his coach's demands and spend his summer baling hay?

Eva Brooks planned out her life step by step when she was eight years old. Not once over the years had she lost sight of her goals. Josh Beasley, her next door neighbor, had been the center of those goals. He'd been her first boyfriend at seven, her first kiss at ten, her first date at fifteen, and her first tragedy at eighteen. The moment she'd received the phone call from Josh's mother saying he'd been killed along with four other soldiers just north of Baghdad, Eva's carefully planned life imploded in the worst way possible.

Cage's isn't really happy with his closet-sized bedroom in the back of a foul smelling barn, or his daily interactions with cows, but he knows that if he doesn't make his coach happy then he can kiss his scholarship goodbye. Only a sick and twisted man would decide his punishment was to be working on a farm all summer. No hot babes in bikinis waiting to meet a Southern boy to make her vacation complete. Just him and the damned cows.

Oh -- and an uptight, snarky brunette with the biggest blue eyes he's ever seen. But she doesn't count, because as hard as he's tried to charm her out of her panties - he's pretty sure she'd rather see him hung from the rafters than let him get a taste of her pretty little lips.

♥My Review♥

One of the things that drawls me to Abbi Glines writing, is that she has this way of creating characters that you, as a reader, can relate to and the life situations that they have to deal with. Abbi has this talent of grabbing you and taking you along on the journeys that the characters are on. You feel their happiness, sadness, accomplishments, success, let downs, failures and most of all, you get a sense of who her characters are and why they are the way they are.

Going through some of the reviews for Abbi's books, I found several who said that Abbi writes all of her books the same way. The young virgin who falls for a bad boy and how she gives in and gives the boy her innocence. Perhaps that is true, but I have to say that I love those types of stories because they are raw, emotional and most of all, REAL! I relate to them in a way that I can't with any other type of books. Perhaps that's why Abbi is my favorite Author.

Enough about Abbi and her creative talent because I can go on and on about her, as you may already know.

I started While it Lasts with some hesitation about if I could fall for Cage York. I wasn't the biggest fan of his in Because of Low, so I tried to keep my hopes on average, just in case this was the book that I would be let down in.

Only Abbi can write a character that you can fall for, forgive them for their faults and have hope for their success. After reading about a quarter way through, I was behind Cage and rooting him on in his quest to get Eva.

I understood Eva and her self preservation and the way she held back to protect her self from falling for the bad boy, if that's what you would call it. Eva had had gone through so much at such a young age that most people go through a lifetime and never experience.

I gave this book ♥♥♥♥ out of ♥♥♥♥♥ on Goodreads. I would recommend this to readers who love New Adult, Romance and Contemporary.

The Elite (The Selection #2) by Kiera Cass│Book Review

♥♥♥♥♥

♥Synopsis♥

Thirty-five girls came to the palace to compete in the Selection. All but six have been sent home. And only one will get to marry Prince Maxon and be crowned princess of Illea.

America still isn't sure where her heart lies. When she's with Maxon, she's swept up in their new and breathless romance, and can't dream of begin with anyone else. But whenever she sees Aspen standing guard around the palace, and is overcome with memories of the life they planned to share. With the group narrowed down to the Elite, the other girls are even more determined to win Maxon over-and time is running out for America to decide.

Just when America is sure she's made her choice, a devastating loss makes her question everything again. And while she's struggling to imagine her future, the violent rebels that are determined to overthrow the monarchy are growing stronger and their plans could destroy her chance at any kind of happy ending.

 ♥My Review♥

Once again, the continuation of The Selection left me wanting more. Kiera Cass is a phenomenal writer and I can't wait to read more of her work.

First, if you have not read The Selection, I strongly recommend you stop reading this review. There are Selection SPOILERS! Go read The Selection, then come back for the review. Go....NOW!!!

No we are down to six girls, the Elite. Maxon and America are more then friends and Aspen is in the wings, hoping that America has still chosen him.

I love ow the characters grown in this book. Even those I don't care for (Aspen and Celeste), I understand their purpose and they do their job well!

Lets get down to business! Many secrets are revealed in this book. Can America do anything else to ruin her image inf front of the King and Queen? Attacks from the Northern and Southern rebels are more frequent.

There is more action, drama, mystery and romance in The Elite.

If I could choose Prince Maxon, I would! I have completely fallen for our Prince. No, I don't agree with all his choices but his heart is pure. He has endured much from the King.

Even though America irritates me with her secret meetings with Aspen, I am still rooting for her.

I enjoyed the Halloween Celebration, minus the Marlee incident. My heart broke into a million pieces when I read that part!

I can't wait for The One, released on May 6, 2014.

I highly recommend The Elite.

I gave it ♥♥♥♥♥ out of ♥♥♥♥♥ on Goodreads.

Fifty Shames of Earl Grey by Fanny Merkin│ Book Review

♥♥♥

Synopsis♥

A shrewd, laugh-out-loud parody of E.L. James' bestselling Fifty Shades of Grey series.

Young, arrogant, tycoon Earl Grey seduces the naive coed Anna Steal with his overpowering good looks and staggering amounts of money, but will she be able to get past his fifty shames, including shopping at Walmart on Saturdays, bondage with handcuffs, and his love of BDSM (Bards, Dragons, Sorcery and Magick)? Or will his dark secrets and constant smirking drive her over the edge.

♥My Review♥

As far as parodies go, this was enjoyable! It was fast paced and entertaining read. IT referenced Twilight often, which makes sense since Fifty Shades of Grey was originally fan fiction.

I don't think that someone who hasn't read the Fifty Shades would understand most of the references that it uses. IE...Earl buys Walmart where Anna works, Ear works as  a bartender part time, as well as any references about his sexuality.

The writing was okay, nothing spectacular but I didn't go into this book expecting it to be, considering i was a parody. I think the writer wrote the book well. All in all, I liked this book.

I gave it ♥♥♥ out of ♥♥♥♥♥ on Goodreads.
